Simon’s Rock awarded merit and need-based scholarships to students during the annual Honors Convocation on Friday, Oct. 26 in McConnell Theater. Peter Laipson, Provost and Vice President, welcomed the audience after an introduction from the Simon’s Rock Chorus, conducted by Jack Brown. The ceremony proceeded with a faculty address by Christopher Callanan, Professor in Languages and Literature, and a student address by Emily Baker ’09, Acceleration to Excellence Scholar, Nadiri AliKhan Scholar and Rodney Christopher Scholar. All honors were then awarded by Laipson and Anne O’Dwyer, Dean of Academic Affairs. The ceremony concluded with an alumna address by Valerie Ferrier ’94 and a reception in the Daniel Arts Center Lobby.
